Jesus is Lord!

September 15th, 2015

Recently, I have been declaring the Lordship of Christ over any and all circumstances. Jesus said that “All power and all authority has been given unto me in heaven and in earth” (Mt.2818) His jurisdiction of divine power and authority rules over all that occurs in this pre-defined arena. In otherwise, there is nothing in all of heaven and earth over which he does not have the power to rule and exercise His lordship. This means that Jesus is Lord over all circumstances, He is Lord over our past and is Lord over all trouble, sickness and pain. He’s peace covers it all! Even the hardships of life must surrender to the Lordship of His name. Truly, Jesus is Lord over all things, past, present and future . He has made a covenant promise to all of us all that “All things are going to work together for Godwith

The Goodness of the Lord

February 9th, 2015

One of the themes of ministry that the Lord has given me during this season is “The Goodness of the Lord”. The Bible says,“Yea, the Lord will give you that which is good and no good thing will He withold from them that who walk uprightly”. (Ps. 85:12a, Ps. 84:b) Knowing the “The Goodness of the Lord” in the midst of crisis times is what enables us to overcome. David said, “I would have fainted, unless I had believed to see ‘The Goodness of the Lord’ in the land of the living”. (Ps. 27:13) When it comes to seeing “The Goodness of the Lord” in your situation or circumstance, you need not look far, for the Bible says, “The earth is full of “The Goodness of the Lord.” (Jer. 33:5) Praise God!

Joy Beyond The Cross

May 22nd, 2013

by Rev. Roger Smets

“Who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross”. (Heb. 12:2b)

When one considers the horrible and excrusiating pain that Jesus endured on the cross, the question cannot help but surface, “How could He do it?” How could He bear such pain in His body?  The answer is in Hebrews 12:2b. What was that “joy” that was “set before Him”, the joy  that He managed to keep His focus on as He was being sacrificed like an animal on the tree?  It was the joy of knowing that He was, through His blood, providing redemption, a way that all of mankind could be forgiven of sin and made right with God. It was an “inner joy” that only Jesus would ever know. Praise God for this “joy” that was “set before” Jesus that enabled Him to “endure the cross.

Truly, Jesus looked beyond the cross and saw you and me, in need of a Savior to forgive us and cleanse us from all our sin. As the hymn so eloquently said it, “Oh what a Savior”!

I just can’t see….

August 4th, 2012

Often when we have encountered those discouraging times in life when nothing seems to be working for us, we find ourselves saying, “I just can’t see” how I’m going to make it” or “I just can’t see how I’m going to get through this or get through that or I just can’t see how any of what I’m going through could ever “work for good”. Life can be overwhelming at times and even the best of us can find ourselves saying, “I just can’t see”. When we say “I just can’t see” it is not because we don’t have the ability to see or are lacking an what we need to see. No, it’s simply because you need more light! Light is what enables us to see, it is what releases our spiritual vision to operate. If you are in a completely dark room where there is no light, you can place your hand just a couple inches in front of you nose and you won’t see it, not because it is not there, but because you need light to see it! This is why Jesus said, “I am the light of the world”. (Jn. 8:12a) He is the One who enables us to see in the most difficult of times. So what is the answer when you “just can’t see”, it is Jesus! We need more of Him, more of His fulness, more of His grace and more of His power working in us, so that we might see! So be it Lord Jesus!

Last month I attended the Memorial Service for my friend and mentor, Dick Mills. Dick was known widely throughout the world as a man with a “Word from the Lord”. He memorized several hundred Scripture Promises that he ministered to others. In 1978 Dick spoke a Word over me that I would become a “carrier” of the Word and likewise would memorize Scripture promises to minister to those in need of a “Word from the Lord”. Six pastors, including Jack Hayford, Bill Jonhson, Jim Tolle and others honored Dick’s unwavering dedication to the Word of God. It was said that he was always ready to give a “Word from the Lord” to anyone wherever he went. I was challenged afresh to memorize more of God’s Word and to always be happy to give an encouraging Word to someone in need.

Recently, I have been affirming “The Power of Declaration” in our services. The Bible says that “when you speak a thing or declare a thing, that thing becomes established in you”. (Job 22:28) When we speak or “declare” those things with our lips that we so believe in our hearts, something of God’s power gets loosed. There comes the releasing of the miraculous that no work of darkness can overcome!

THIS WEEK our ministry continues in Southern California. We will be holding services in Brea, CA at “Downtown Chapel” (in Orange County).

April 25th, 2012

This week we have been holding Revival Meetings in Lancaster, CA. It has been a powerful time of ministry focusing on knowing “The Will of God”, “The Ways of God” and “The Word of God”. In every service there has been a strong demonstration of the Holy Spirit. People have been saved, filled with the Holy Spirit and freshly empowered with the Word of God. The Bible says that “He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them…” (Ps. 107:20)

We thank God for His continued anointing upon us as we declare the promise of His Word into the hearts of many.

July 7th, 2011

A phrase that is usually spoken with the assumption that no one really cares is this one, “Who Cares?” It is a comment born out of the frustration that comes when circumstances have turned against us and we have grown weary of the fight. It is then when doubts of God’s love and care begin to surface and we find ourselves asking this question, “Who Cares?” Amid the troubles that life sometimes will bring, it is without doubt a valid question, one for which God has an assuring answer.

Circumstances do not dictate the Love & Care of God:The Gospels tell the story about Jesus sleeping on board a ship with the disciples, when a great storm rose up threatening their lives. As they awakened Jesus, one of the disciples said, “Master, carest thou not that we perish?” (Mark 4:38) Their hearts were filled with fear. They wondered how Jesus could sleep at a time like this and thus assumed that He didn’t care about them and what may happen. Unfortunately, they mistakenly allowed the crisis of the storm to dictate their understanding of the love and care of God. We likewise, must be careful not to do the same. We must not allow the hardships of life to be the measuring stick of God’s care. The bottom line is that no matter what happens or doesn’t happen, God cares for us. How do we know? He says so in His Word! I Peter 5:7 affirms it, “Casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you!” In the midst of every crisis or tribulation, His love and care for us remains absolute, unaltered, unadjusted and unchanged. Thus, when the storms of life assault us and the question surfaces in our hearts, “Who Cares”?, may we, with boldness of heart, declare, “God cares”, He always has and He always will according to the promise of His holy Word.
