“In God We Trust”

Next month the presidential leadership of our country will be passed on to president-elect Barack Obama.  On January 20th, the focus of the world will be upon this transition of power where the campaign theme, “Yes We Can!” will be given the opportunity to spread its wings and fly.  I believe, however, the danger of putting so much hope and trust in one man will be quickly known.  For “we can” do nothing without Christ!  Thus, our real Hope can not and must not rest in whoever occupies the oval office, but rather in the God of the ages who is our Only Hope, the One in whom our own currency still bears the admonition, “In God We Trust”.  If there ever was a time for our country to trust Him, it is now!

A Personal Note

We are currently in the San Diego, CA area where we ministered at Southport Foursquare Church in National City.  The church was filled to capacity with “standing room only”.  So many people were hungry for a Word from God.  Jesus said, “they that hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled“.

While in Southern California, we are grateful for the opportunity to be with family, our son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Amy and first grandchild, Adina Rain.  She is such a blessing to see.  Adina is now one year old, trying to walk and talk.

As we approach the Christmas season, Gwen’s mother, Edith, will be visiting us from Canada, and Gwen’s brother will be visiting from Florida.

We are so looking forward to this season which promises to be a great time with family.

May the Lord bless you and your family and keep you throughout this special time of year.

Roger & Gwen
