“And it Came To Pass” – Gwen home from hospital!

We are glad to have Gwen home from the hospital from having a total hip replacement last week.  She is still having Physical Therapy treatments at home, and is improving daily, walking pretty well with a walker.  However, while the surgery went well with no complications, Gwen has since developed some kind of bad reaction which caused her to break out with a “sun burned like” rash all over her entire body with extreme swelling of her arms, legs and feet.  The doctors, at this time, are not sure what has caused this condition and are trying different things to treat it.  Please pray for the Lord to intervene and heal this skin rash and reduce the swelling soon.

Again, our thanks to all who have been remembering Gwen in your prayers during this entire ordeal.  Sometimes it as been overwhelming for her, but her faith in the Lord remains strong, endeavoring to trust Him to bring her through this difficult season.  As the Bible so many times says, And it came to pass”, so do we believe that this trouble did not come to stay, but rather, “came to pass”.  So be it we pray in Jesus’ name!

Thank You for your Prayers for Gwen

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your prayers for Gwen this week.  A few days ago she had a total hip replacement and has been in the hospital all this week recovering.  The doctor said the surgery went well with no complications however the recovery has been very difficult for Gwen.  The pain has been much greater than she had anticipated and walking with the new hip implant has been challenging to say the least.  After being in the hospital for 4 days, she is now being transfered to a rehabilitation hospital where she will receive extended physical thearapy until she feels confident to be able to walk on her own.

Gwen and I want to thank all who have been praying for her this week.  Sometimes life can deal us some pretty difficult mountains to overcome but we know the Lord is our Divine Enabler

If you want to send Gwen a message you may email her at this website address:contact@rogersmets.com“.  If you would like to send her a card, send it to: Gweneth Smets, 2743 Madison River Dr., Redding, CA 96002.  If you would like to send an ”electronic card” on line, send to Gwen at contact@rogersmets.com)

Again we so appreciate all of you who have been praying for Gwen at this time.  Your love and support are a real encouragement to us both.

Thanking God for His power to heal and restore, knowing He is forever able. (Eph. 3:20)

A Special “Prayer Request” for Gwen

Over the past several months, Gwen has not been in good health. She began having constant pain in her hip and upper leg. X-rays confirmed that she has a severley degenerated right hip where no cartilage or natural cushioning remains, thus causing much pain when she walks or even tries to turn over in bed. While Gwen enjoys accompanying me on my out of town ministry trips, and contributes much to the services with her beautiful piano playing, she has not felt the strength to go with me on all occasions. We do believe in the power of prayer and have been trusting the Lord for Gwen’s healing however it will come. Gwen does have a Christian orthopedic doctor/surgeon and is currently scheduled to go into the hospital on March 23rd for a “total hip replacement” operation. Please mark this date on your calendar that all will go well and that Gwen will have a quick recovery and excellent results.  “He sent His Word and healed them…” (Ps. 107:20a)
