January 2024 Update

Needless to say, it has been a long year adjusting to Roger’s passing. Although life has been difficult at times, I have received daily strength from the Lord. My ministry continues mostly on a personal level with my home church, friends, neighbors, and volunteer work with the Red Cross at this time. Having been in ministry since I was 12 years old, helping to plant a church with my family, playing the piano and teaching Sunday School, I don’t know any other lifestyle. I am seeking the Lord for further direction for ministry. As Roger so often gave people the scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”, I know that God has good plans for my life, and definitely isn’t done with me! So far, I know I want to continue Roger’s ministry of sharing encouraging Words from the Scriptures with the many people I come in contact with. Knowing the Word and sharing it compassionately is Roger’s legacy, and I want to continue fulfilling his legacy. As I read through the Bible again this year, I’m asking the Lord to direct me to specific passages to memorize and share with those who need them. As always, it is the Word of God that is sharper than any two-edged sword that will lift up and encourage those in need. It is the Word that people will remember in times of need, not our thoughts and ideas. Let us all be ready and available to share His Word! It has to be within us so that we can give it out! In any need or situation, we need to ask ourselves what the Bible says about it. We also need to be ready to give an answer for the hope that is in us. (I Peter 3:15)

I will always be thankful for the 47 years of full time service for the Lord with Roger. It was indeed a privilege! Please continue to pray for me as I carry on without Roger by my side, for health, healing and strength.
